La Cosa knits have set a standard of luxury for decades. Styled and crafted in Europe, the La Cosa collection uses comfortable and supple natural fabrications of Egyptian and Peruvian cottons, knitted in super-combed cotton flat knits and mercerized ribs.
Cotton is synonymous with comfort. It has an exceptional ability to insulate the body in cold weather and cool the body when temperatures begin to soar. La Cosa's fabrics are soft and feather like on the skin, yet durable enough to machine wash.
La Cosa's fit, flattering on all body types, is renowned among fashionistas everywhere. Knitting is done on circular knitting machines, removing the need for side seams. Many camisoles are knitted on a transfer machine eliminating bottom hems. Because of its smooth, seamless silhouette, no unsightly lines show through clothing or aggravate the skin.
La Cosa is best known for its never duplicated baby fine rib; an old European secret. Its slight sheerness evokes a subtle sensuality.
The use of natural yard dyed fibers and a process known as mercerization are key elements in achieving La Cosa's luxurious look. Each fiber is dyed individually, before the knitting process to ensure rich color perfect coverage and a completely even finish. Mercerization singes the fibers over a flame, and then treats it with a chemical bath, leaving the yarn with a smooth lustrous end product. This gives La Cosa products its "smooth as silk" look.
For the unsurpassed softness of the La Cosa flat knit collection, fabric is subjected to a supercombing process. With this method fibers are finely and thoroughly combed to remove all impurities, creating an even texture and smooth hand.
The super soft hand of finely knitted natural fibers, the appealing elegance of the La Cosa design, and the traditional European craftsmanship have become La Cosa's legacy, making it a distinct and integral part of women's wardrobes for over 70 years.
